Currently, we are looking for an Application Support Engineer to join our team, working out of our East Greenbush, NY office. The Application Support Engineer will be responsible for the monitoring, maintenance, and configuration of all applications and websites for every environment within the Market Force organization.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Research problem tickets to resolve data, setup, and code issues to provide responsive correction of issues.
  • Assist in prioritization of enhancements and defect resolutions.
  • Interact with internal business customers, operation personnel, and development groups in troubleshooting and correction of issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis on issues that lead to implementation of processes to prevent repetitive issues.

· Must be able to read and understand code

  • Maintain knowledge base documentation.
  • Work on projects to better improve Application Support model and processes.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, or other related engineering field
  • 1-2 years experience in an Application Support, Production Support, Tier II Software Support or Software Development role ideal.
  • Excellent diagnostic, debugging, and problem solving skills
  • SQL or TSQL experience
  • Experience writing in a programming language such as VB, C#, C++, C, Java, or Javascript
  • Understanding of servers, networks, IIS, security, client/server model in a Windows Server environment
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of technical experience (developers/ operations/ end users/ support staff)
  • Understanding of traditional software development life cycle and problem tracking systems
  • Ability to work in team environment, while being self-directed, proactive and action oriented
  • Familiarity with Relational Database tools

· Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in the use and application of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft .NET (ASP,C#, VB), and MVC architecture
  • Understanding of MS SQL Server or other relational databases including stored procedure development.
  • Knowledge of Apache/Tomcat configuration or IIS configuration
  • GIT or other source control repositories
  • Windows operating system
